"What is Drawing?" is a question artists often ask. In this four-week exploration of experimental techniques and unique methods we will attempt to answer this question and learn the essence of "mark-making". We'll suspend all expectations of traditional drawing by taking familiar materials to a new level, and by trying out totally new and experimental materials as well. Our methods will be unconventional and will make it difficult to seek results tied to any traditional definition of drawing. Through this class you will loosen your daily work, improve your visual vocabulary, and enhance your technical skills! We'll also look at art created by those producing contemporary drawings. Experimental Drawing is designed for those with some drawing experience, but anyone who is willing to suspend expectation is welcome. Some supplies will be included in the course fee, but a general supply list will be given upon registration.
