About the event
Restoring and Reimagining Newark’s National Treasure
Licking County is fortunate to have a “jewel box” bank designed by Louis H. Sullivan— America’s first true modern architect—in its midst. It’s a treasure of our shared history and it will be a treasure in our community’s future. The building will be home to Explore Licking County, serving as a public gathering place for meetings, events, exhibits, retail, offices, and public restrooms. The rehabilitation of the Sullivan Building will be another tool in Licking County’s toolbox of architectural assets and community resources. For over a decade, a team of dedicated volunteers and preservation professionals have partnered to restore this historic building in a way that will benefit the community.
We are excited to provide you with an update on our steady progress along with historic highlights and insights: Mike Schmidt, Licking County Foundation’s President; Connie Hawk, Licking County Foundation’s Strategic Initiative Director; Dan…
