A Bit About Me
Cat Sheridan is the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery Director, a gallery celebrating and showcasing the myriad professional artists that reside and work in the state of Ohio. Sheridan hails from the east side of Columbus, Ohio, and graduated with honors from Columbus College of Art & Design; Bachelor of Fine Arts, Minor in Art History. Sheridan has taught community and youth ceramics on and off since 1999, was the Director Columbus College of Art & Design’s Continuing and Professional Studies Department 2007 - 2015, and a Global Project Coordinator for LBrands Store Design and Construction 2015 - 2019. Sheridan’s past and present professional and volunteer affiliations include: past board member of the Ohio Art League (2004-2006), ROYGBIV Gallery 2016-2019, Columbus Arts Marketing Association 2005-2010, Chair 2008-2010, Columbus City Schools Berwick Alternative k-8 Site Based Council, Co-chair 2014, Wexner Center for the Arts GenWex 2006-2016 and GWAC, Co-chair 2010-12. Member of the Creative Arts of Women 2010 - 2016, and a 2009-2010 Fellowship in Arts and Culture: The Next Generation of Leaders through The Academy for Leadership & Governance. An ardent advocate of the arts, arts education and creative community building Sheridan focuses her time and energy on expanding the power of the arts; as an arts administrator during the day and an arts mentor, volunteer, and practicing artist, at night.
